Hey there, I just wanted to say "Hi" & introduce The Sunrise blog – “From The Crow’s Nest”. As an engineer I always want to give as much information as possible to our customers so they can make the best possible decision for themselves (eg, our
Netting White Paper...but it turns out that I can tend to be a bit more long-form than optimal on our webpages. So, this is my outlet :). Our team will use this area to add tips, tricks, & useful information pertaining to multihull nets, dock nets, & loft nets as well as our newer Catamaran SHADE product line. We will also use it to introduce new product lines as they come out (and there are some exciting ones!). We will work hard to keep this more informational than advertorial, but we are pretty dang proud of what we make so don’t be surprised if we brag a bit if, for example, we get a cool story from a customer who’s had our webbing nets on their catamaran in the South Pacific for 20 years & they’re still going strong!
I’ve got some pretty good ideas for upcoming blogs, but if there’s information you want to hear more about shoot us a message and I’ll add it to the list of what I’m working on. Upcoming blog posts we are planning include:
- Addressing trampoline net considerations specific to the different makes (eg, Lagoon, Fountaine Pajot, Outremer, Catana, Etc) and what you need to be aware of & consider with them specifically
- Maximizing Your Living Space – Your trampoline net is 50% of your outdoor living space, we’ll show you how to make the most of it.
- Case studies on durability with real world customer experiences
- The World’s Best Netting Warranty – What does that really mean?
- Architectural Nets as a value add with short term rentals (hint: customers love them!)
- Things to consider when spec’ing a bowsprit or bikini tramp
- The Sunrise perspective on net value (hint: the cheapest today is usually not the cheapest in the long run)
- A walk through the Sunrise Core Values
- A durability case study – 5 year old Sunrise Trampoline Nets vs 5 year old competitors nets. We break stuff so you can see the difference for yourself. Yes – the engineer in me is very excited about this.
- When Dyneema Is Right For You: A case study on when the wonder material is really best for you – and it’s only in specific cases.
- Pets & Nets: Choosing a net that works well for you & your pet as a cruising catamaran owner.
- Lacing Patterns and why you should care about them. Turns out lacing patterns effect everything from net tension to overall net durability.
- Day Charter Catamarans & how to select a trampoline net for extreme duty commercial catamarans.
- Why you should strongly consider upgrading your OEM nets on Day 1 (this of course depends on your specific OEM).
- The Dirt Floor Paradox. I’ll explain later 😊
- The Seawind Longitudinal Study – The case of the missing net failures (hint: we have something to do with it).
- The Joy of Making Quality Products – We’ll share some of our customer feedback over the last 37+ years, it’s a really fun history dive.
I need to stop…have a lot more ideas but suspect that’s over a year’s worth of work there. I really look forward to having this place to share some useful information with you without overwhelming our other web pages. Feel free to
reach out with any questions & let us know how we can be most helpful to you!
Regards,
Matt Brunnig
